This is an easy question to answer, but some of the details may be worth noting.
There are two stock exchanges in China mainland:
- Shanghai Stock Exchange
(URL: http://www.sse.com.cn/)
- Shenzhen Stock Exchange
(URL: http://www.szse.cn/)
There is essentially no difference between the two exchanges. The stocks traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange are trading with the numbers 6 or 9. The stocks traded on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange are numbered 0, 2 or 3 begins.
The stocks beginning with 9 and 2 are also known as Class B stocks. These stocks are traded in US dollars.
